I thought this was a gag but apparently it is for real. A woman in France fell to her death and was eaten by vultures. Terrible! http://www.examiner....1-000-foot-fall

Reading REH stories and poetry, learning about his life, friends, and spreading the word to others about REH being the best writer and poet of all time! I give my extra Conan's, Kull's, and Solomon Kane's Dark Horse comics to friends. My goal is to attend REH Days, meet other fans, have fun, and bring a ton load of books for autographing:)
Also read all of Edwin Becker's books. True Haunting is superb!! It's a must read! This true story happened in Chicago, Illinois 1970-1971. It's rated Number #1 in paranormal psychology! The rooms were so cold no AC was needed. A priest came to bless the house and the metal device that sprinkles the holy water shattered into pieces. The priest runs out never to return. Ed & Marsha paid $16,500 and sold it one year later for $10.

Swords And Scrolls
13 January 2013 - 04:23 PM
As I was going over some extra SSOC recently acquired a thought occured to me while reading Swords and Scolls (SAS) - letters mailed in with questions and comments.
Submit:
1. Issue #, date, and page # of SSOC SAS.
2. Type verbatim question and reply if there is one.
If commenting please be concise and on topic.
3. Name of person city, state, & country if other than USA.
Intent is to share with new REH fans what older REH fans had to say some 30 years ago in SSOC. The new SSOC reprints don't have SAS.
Thank you in advance and I'll start off SSOC with issue #26, Jan 1978, SAS page # 65 sent in by Rev. Ken Hutchinson St. Marys, Ohio The reverend says,
"Dear Mr. Thomas,
I have been an avid reader of your very fine magazine for quite some time. Please continue your excellent work. The articles, stories, and artwork are very good. I teach a stage-magic course at a local college (Wright State) and use you magazine as a teaching aid. We show how magic should look and be performed.
Several of our students have become very interested in what you have printed concerning the Society of Anachronism. We would like to know whom to contact for information and membership. We would appreciate any information which you might be able to send. If there is any member who might be able to give us information concerning joining this group, we would appreciate his address."
SSOC says:
"And mabye he'd appreciate yours, friend. Thus, we're printing your letter in the hope that some active member of the SCA will tell you how to contact the proper authorities. Meanwhile, it seems to us that we printed an address or two of that type some issues back, but we can't recall where. You might try scrounging thru the back issues...."

Epic Illustrated
31 December 2012 - 01:42 AM
I found some Epics at the mom and pop comic book store. They are the Marvel Black and White editions similar to SSOC and about the same time frame. I got as many as I could afford at that time 3-5 dollars each. There are some of my favorite finds.
Epic Illustrated was touted as a new experience in adult fantasy and science fiction adventure. Published by Marvel Comics, this magazine was aimed at a more mature audience. This issue features stories and art by Jim Starlin, Archie Goodwin, Roy Thomas, Mike W. Barr, Michael Golden, Dennis O'Neil, and more. Cover by Paul Gulacy. 98 pages. Cover price $2.00.

Robert E. Howard - Bookvika Publishing

To the moderators: If there is another area that this is listed please can you connect the two? I'd like this to be Book Questions only and not comic books or comic trades please. Any additional information will be most helpful prior to purchase. I have only had to return one book to the book store on Bob because of the negative and misinformational introduction.
I saw this book but know nothing about it or the editors. Can you help? Thanks in advance. The picture of the typewriter reminds me of the cover to Two Gun Bob. On a Kindle I can Look Inside prior to purchase but not on paperbacks or Hardcover. Since this is so new I wasn't able to find anything about it or the editors. If it is just Wikipedia articles I believe I will pass on it.
