From http://www.desmoines...200302/1046/ENT

Edward Summer, associate producer said (regarding Conan): "He was the strong, silent type."

Yet another piece of evidence that these people don't know, don't care, and don't care to know about anything Howard wrote. Conan was strong, but the character is the exact opposite of silent. This Summer guy either hasn't read the damn stories, or he's an idiot.

Since when was Conan a laconic, Clint Eastwood type?

Since never.

How could anyone who's read Howard say Conan's the "strong silent type"? Solomon Kane, yes. Conan, no. Not at all.

Conan's a loud, aggressive, extroverted, hard-drinking, boisterous, brawling, and rowdy carouser. "Of gigantic melancholies and gigantic mirth".

Morons. It's infuriating.

Since this will be nothing but a sub-par remake of the "Conan the Barbarian", the "strong and silent type" is taken straight from the original :)...

B) If so .. then why not take Roland Kickinger or Drasko Andjic? Why underweight Jason Momoa is cast as Conan?

I think comments on Momoa's skin color are out of line.  Conan isn't white he's bronzed.  Concentrate on what's really wrong: shape of face, and shape of body.  Hair and eye color are fixable.

Biggest problem is lack of time to put on muscles, Momoa is too narrow in shoulders and with short arms for someone his height ... everything can be fix but this is difficult

I admit that I was pleasantly surprised how well this turned out ... but we still have the problem of lack of large muscle :)
