In Topic: Cormac Mac Art

I remember reading the Baen paperback years ago and loving it.  I finished the 2nd Conan volume the other day, and looking for more Robert E. Howard, I picked up Solomon Kane and Bran Mak Morn.  So far I've really enjoyed Kane, and it'll be interesting to see what Bran is like after that.  From what I can tell, it looks like Wandering Star is doing Kull after the 3rd Conan, so I hope we get that in a Del Rey paperback.  (Read the Baen Kull, loved it)

Anyway, my point is that Cormac Mac Art is one of my top 3 REH characters - the other 2 being Conan and Kull.  I find it interesting that he gets so little mention here, nor does there seem to be any indication of any upcoming reprints of the Cormac Mac Art stories.

The reason Conan didn't take Subotai with him is that Subotai took a spear in the leg during the Battle of the Mounds.  One of the soldiers speared him, and the wizard speared the soldier in the back.  If you look closely, when Thulsa Doom shoots a snake from his bow at the princess and Subotai jumps in front of it with his shield, he was seriously hobbling before he made the jump.

As for the wizard, I have no idea why he doesn't go with Conan.

I seriously don't think the Conan game will be released on or ANY console in the USA.

In Topic: Who Could Play Conan in a Movie/Mini-Series?

I remember Brian Thompson as Hercules.  I have to say they could do a lot worse than to cast him as Conan, if they were making a movie about an older Conan.  God knows who could play young Conan.

The live action Conan series is good for amusement value, and that's about it. It almost is to REH's Conan and the Arnold movies as SPACEBALLS is to Star Wars. Seriously, you can almost think of it as a spoof. I'm gonna get the DVD set just for the heck of it.

It's been a LONG time since I've seen the cartoon Conan, but I found a website not too long ago that had brief synopses of all the episodes (sorry, I don't remember the URL). The cartoon, being just that, had no way of being even close to REH's Conan, but IMHO it was cool, for what it was. It had a lot more of REH's mythology than the live show. I really, REALLY want the complete series on DVD. It had cool characters and some exciting battles. The 3-episode finale culminated in a battle w/ Set himself that was far better than the climax of CONAN THE DESTROYER.
