The Henry VIII armor was made by a smith named Seusenhofer, who was obviously quite stifled, artistically.

This guy Seusenhofer wasn't very imaginative ("Ok, the helmet covers the head. Now I'll add a big nose, some teeth...oh, and some hollow ram's horns!") but I love the "glasses" attached to this helm.

I recently watched "In The Name Of The Rose" and Sean Connery's character used a similar set:

only one word comes to mind when seeing this helmet: disgust

is what I said. Taking Christianity and Mithraism entering, all the symbolism of the images, carriages, armor and weapons also changes. Without Christianity, the Middle Ages would be different, probably much less dark and dismal.

One must also keep in mind that with a political and social organization based on the feudal vassal (as it was then in Aquilonia), not the slave regime coexisted in the Middle Ages, while happening in Aquilonia. I can not accept that does not take into account these different variables that would make Aquilonia visually different from the High Middle Ages. Howard said as amster not illustrated anything, just described. And his descriptions open wide margin of interpretation, as indeed happened still happens today!

I do not see Aquilonia nor Greek nor Roman, nor as a kingdom of Ancient Age, and not as an almost exact copy of the Middle Ages. In my humble opinion, Howard describes a Hyborian Ages, which is visually different from the Middle Ages we know. You have to see it with a lens 10,000 years ago.

Note the image below. I did the assembly, and the mantle that I used came from a medieval painting ... just took the cross emblazoned and left the rest intact. He was faced with Romano. This all because I removed the cross.

What I think about it is personal. I see the Hyborian Age as a mixture, not a big part with cutouts inserted, but small parts amalgamated forming a background.

The medieval iconography is deeply influenced by Catholicism and its symbols. Of course, all this influences the customs, politics, the clothes and the symbols used. Many medieval images have a religious nature, and much attached to the cross (symbol of Catholicism).

It is difficult to surgically remove Christianity from the medieval era and leave the rest as is ... I think I misunderstood, I am not saying that REH did not know that, of course not! catch a snippet of "The Hour of the Dragon."

"... and clad him in
Conan's armor of black plate mail, with the vizored salade, and the
dark plumes nodding over the wivern crest. Over all they put the
silken surcoat with the royal lion worked in gold upon the breast, and
they girt him with a broad gold-buckled belt which supported a jewel-
hilted broadsword in a cloth-of-gold scabbard."

I see a brief description of how this denotes a 100% medieval armor ... and if so, on what would pedíodo and place? I would be very happy if the artist was illustrating the tale was asked "well, I have a helmet medieval knight.

But the story is not true in the Middle Ages, but in the Hyborian Age. What do I do? ctrl + c / ctrl + v of a medieval helmet, or a vision of how a helmet could be the average age is 10 thousand years ago? "I think it would be more respectful of Howard.

well was it not conan who said let others have imperial dreams i want only to rule what is mine. even tho there are a few lines calling Aquilonia an empire there is nothing to show it is an empire like rome was.
why on croms earth would christian equal medieval???? that make little to no sense. this isnt our medieval age but that of a long time forgotten , long time before any modern religion.
there really isnt endless possibilities if one simply reads what REH wrote.

is what I speak ... Here are wasting time drawing parallels between the medieval era and Aquilonia. Do not really have relationships, perhaps only as inspiration. The answer to that was directly above statement made by Ironhand: "It is true that the entire world of the Hyborian Age has many cultures and technologies represented in it, but the area dominated by actual Hyborians is predominantly Western European medieval."
My only criticism is that using Medieval Europe based pictorial impoverished and limited.
