In that screenshot of Conan in the game he looks incredibly rediculous.  He should look like a barbarian, not some clunky boreder-line gay looking dude with long hair.

Why not digitally reproduce something that looks like a Frazetta painting, then give us a game.

Muscles and long black hair does not equal Conan!!! Why won't they listen...

As for Conan himself I picture him close to Frazetta's painting "The Barbarian" (<< who could have guessed that one!).

I don't really picture barbarians as big guys with long hair and fur underpants running around with broadswords just in case CPI is still listening!

In regards to REH's barbarians, it all depends on the story... I mean he had story that took place in prehistory, dark ages, middle ages, heck... he even had barbarian types in Arabia! So... you'd really have to narrow it down I think.

As for the Picts ... I've seen various interpretations of them... I don't really agree with any of them.  Frazetta's Bran Mak Morn painting seemed close but a little too neanderthal, and Bran Mak Morn himself wasn't accurately depicted in that.

The bear men of 13th are ridiculous.

All things considered, let's just not get into another define barbarian discussion, remember that one Ironhand? hahaha!

In Topic: Discovering Robert E. Howard

I got 'hooked' on Howard after getting hooked on modern Conan, and after struggling with the sub-par Tor Conan books.  I believe I first read about Howard in a Savage Sword of Conan issue...

Anyway, my first taste of Howard was either the Baen reprints or the Ultimate Triumph.

I then picked up some Conan, which was great despite the L Sprague De Crap mess.  Then I got some other lesser-known REH creations off ebay...

Then I realized    Howard's creativeness, although great, is pretty limited.  I can't pin point it, but either the story archs are similar or the characters are repetitious...

Don't hate me, but I grow tired of Howard outside of my favourite stories by him.
